cyanotypes

Cyanotypes are an alternative photography process that dates back to the 1800s. Two chemicals are mixed together to make a light sensitive solution, which is then painted onto paper for varying visual effects. I arrange pressed flowers or leaves from my garden onto the paper and carry it outside into the sunshine for the image to be exposed. The results are a beautiful mix of deep blue, light blue and white. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind, which makes for fun and exciting results.
